I am thinking about getting my driver re-shafted. Does anyone have any tips on how to go about selecting the proper shaft? I currently play the stock Taylor Made stiff shaft, and will definitely need to put a stiff/x-stiff shaft in.

Thanks in advance.

Why do you want to get it reshafted? What is wrong with the one you have? That determines what you want in a new shaft.

I think I will make a store visit to have them take a look at the swing. I am interested in moving to a shaft that will allow me to get slightly better elevation off the tee than the stock stiff shaft. I have also toyed with moving to a x-stiff shaft at the same time.

i bet they try to sell you a GD quad pro, diamana blue or white or a proto by you shaft...b/c well they're the sh**... and the most expensive.. but if you're trying to get it up a little more, go with a lower kickpoint which is consistent with a diamana blueboard

at x-stiff you're probably gonna need a 83 - 93 gram shaft for the best timing... takes a while to get used to though..i re-shafted 4 weeks ago from a YS6 to a whiteboard, and I'm just starting to really control the ball the way that I want.
