Just like the subject said. I do not have a hard swing at all, but I am looking for a club to help me get the ball in the air more. I am looking for an iron set. I do not like hybrids that much, so if there not in the set I will be happy. Just wondering if anyone had suggestions.
Thanks

try a set of linx crystal cat. great club for beginners. it's also the shaft too. if you're not swinging fast at all then maybe a graphite set would be best for you.

Out of interest, what irons are you currently using and what shafts? If the shaft is incorrectly fit for you, it could cause a low ball flight.

I use acuity, a set of clubs i bought from dicks or 150 dollars. I shot a 86 on 18 with them, a 89... and yesterday i played and I shot a 43 on the front 9 at birdwood in charlottesville Va. ... I have a very smooth swing that i hit everything perfectly straight, but i gave up a great distance with it. I do not like my hybrids so i rarely use them so most of the time i just play with my 5 iron... hit on avg like 170... and then i use my sw and pw to play my short game. They are steel shafts.

43 on the front nine at Birdwood isn't that bad! If you're already hitting your irons straight, you may want to consider something a little more "advanced" than super game improvement irons. I'll leave the specific brand suggestions up to my more experienced fellow posters.

I'm not going to suggest a brand name. I'm a big fan of demo'ing clubs before you buy them. If you can hit some prior to purchase, by all means, hit as many as you can! Try them all. You're obviously a beginner and need to upgrade! You've outgrown your first set of cheapies like we all had. I think I paid $155 for my 11-piece Wilson set back in '86.

Brand will be up to you. If you really believe you have a slower swing (170 for a 5iron really isn't that bad at all)--maybe you should just hit some at Dick's and have them tell you your swingspeed. I would guess you need a regular flex or maybe even try a senior flex.

Also, a higher follow thru promotes a higher ball flight as well. I don't know if you watched the Open much over the weekend, but when Tiger was hitting a high 7 or 8 iron he wanted to land softly, his follow thru was very high. If you have a flatter swing plane, your ball flight will be lower.
