Hello everyone,

I saw these all over ebay for a good price. They look like CG10's with a small cavity back. I know they don't have the zip grooves, but I am still curious.

I have a 52* low bounce. I love it. I use it for 50 to 75 yd approach shots and it's great from the sand. I don't get quite as much backspin as I'd like but that's probably more a lack of skill on my part than anything else. Still, I do get sufficient backspin with my Ping G2 PW so I guess the club does have something to do with it.

I have a 60 degree lob wedge. I have a 56 vokey...i prefer the vokey a lot more than the cg11. the cg's too bulky i feel..and the bounce feels weird even though i have standard.... stick with a vokey.

My SW is a CG11 56°, mid bounce. I love it, wouldn't trade it for anything.

When you are referring to "feeling the bounce" or "liking the bounce". I know your not referring to how much the ball bounces on landing since that isn't a characteristic the club can control.

What do you mean when you are saying bounce? Sorry for the noob question, but I have to ask.

bounce is basically the amt that the club kicks back. would that be the proper term? kick back? like recoil after you hit the ground...so you don't dig into the ground. i don't know the proper way to explain it...but I understand it.

I tried several different wedges in the offseason and finally settled on the cg11's for the 56* and 50*. I can honestly say that for me, they are the best wedges I have ever hit. I am a Titleist irons guy and have owned Vokey wedges in the past but they pale in comparison to Cleveland wedges (especially these). The best part about the cg11 56* is how versatile it is. You can easily hit full shots or lay it wide open for flops without worry of blading it even off of tight lies. I gave up on my Vokeys because they just had too much bounce towards the heel of the club. It was way too hard to hit delicate shots around the green without blading them. With the cg11's, I have much more confidence and never worry about blading them off of thin lies anymore.
Great clubs. Definitely worth a try.

Bounce refers to the angle of the sole of the club measured back from the leading edge when grounded in a normal stance. If this is big number (14° or more) the club will tend to skip across the ground, a smaller angle (4° to 8°) will tend to make it dig in more. That is why most players prefer a sand wedge with a higher bounce angle to prevent it from digging into the sand too deeply. A gap wedge or a lob wedge should have less bounce to make it more friendly for shots from tighter fairway lies.

Great explanation, thanks. I knew how it worked, but this really puts it into english for me :)

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
