I've hit the Hyper X and it's a solid club. I like it alot. I've heard nothing but raves about the G-10. That may be the way to go. I like how the Hyper X sets up very square at address (tour model). The regular is not very closed. I always think it has to please your eye as to help you align at address. You won't be sorry either way.

Hoo boy! Now how do you

really feel? I think the Hyper X is superb. One of my golf partners swears by his G10. I tried his G10 several times this weekend. While I am sure it is a superb driver, I just couldn't get a feel for it. On the other hand, I'm hitting more fairways than ever, as well as hitting the ball a bit farther, with my Hyper X. So, I suppose it is horses for courses; or, if you prefer, try them both and see what works best for you. Don't take our advice, determine which driver feels best to you. Good luck.

I compared those two recently as they were both recomended highly by golf buddies and the fine folks here.

The bottom line is that I felt I could be very well served by either club!!!!!

In the end, I preferred the G10 10.5 with the V2 HL 65 stiff. It seemed to be a very good fit for me. I'm gonna order one within the next couple of weeks...need it custom length and want the white cord grip w/ 2 wraps.

I ordered a G10 hybrid yesterday with the V2 shaft. Looking forward to this new addition to the arsenal.

Depending on how the hybrid does, I may add another or a G10 3 wood.

Visually, the G10 driver clubhead looks great. Hard to tell it's a 460cc head at address. Many of these new 460cc driver offerings today are so radically different looking than my old driver that it is just too wierd at address.

The HyperX looks good, too. The little alignment aid on top is more pronounced than the G10's if that's a factor for you. Doesn't bother me, though.

Mishits on the G10 (limited outdoor course/range time with each) seemed to work out better as far as distance.

My father plays the G5 series and has loved it....this one seems to be simply the tweaked newer version with no surprises.

i have always been a ping fan. I love the feel, but to be honest i hit both of them quite well. Hyper x and g10 are both good clubs. I would recommend trying them out before you buy them. Both brands are quite good though.

I really appreciate the input. I think i'm going to take shortgame85's advice, and test both clubs out before I spend $300. Either way I go, I'm sure I'll be much happier with my tee shots in the near future.

u can work the ball more with the hyper x and i found callaway drivers have a better feeling at impact than ping

You can work the ball just as much with the G10 as well...I do it all the time...When I tried the hyper x on a few shots I didn't notice I could work the ball anymore than my G10.

While both drivers are great drivers(tried them both), I think you'll prefer the G10 more so than the hyper x, the G10 goes long and straight and so does the hyper x, but I think the G10 is better suited towards an amateur, in other words, I think the G10 will be more forgiving for you...

since your handicap is high you really need to try each club... just the shape of the head could affect the way you start your swing and could easy change from a inside outside swing.... any major brand drive these day have more then 1 very good driver.. it all about your swing and how you feel each club.

but for the best value $ vs performance i would recommend the cleveland XLS... very solid drive for 300$

I have never hit them back to back but I am a believer in the G10. it is going to get a serious look when I shop for a new driver next season.

i have always been a ping fan until i used their fairway woods. I posted earlier and said the ping is great. I traded a few clubs and got the hyper X tour for 60.00. I love the feel of it although i haven't gotten use to it yet. But callaway is starting to be a part of my bag.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
