Question about cutting down irons and changing head weight

I've had a set of Titleist 695CBs for about 6 months and never had them fitted for me hence I was spraying the ball everywhere. Recently I had them cut down 5/8 of an inch from standard, bent 1 degree flat, and I've noticed the weight of the club head to be not significantly but noticably lighter. I'm a short guy 5'6-5'7 and the length seems about perfect. My 990s which I had for years before this set were about exactly the same length. I'm hitting the ball a little thin but was just hoping to get some intake. Thanks.
