I have a buddy looking at upgrading his walmart clubs, and he has come down to the two iron sets, which are the same price at GolfSmith. His main thing is to be forgiving, but not so forgiving that he is again looking for new irons when he improves a bit. Any opinions? He has hit both, and came down to these. At the moment, he cant tell a huge difference in them. Thanks!

Has he tried G10's? If he's looking to save some $$$$$ he may want to try G5's. Either way, ya can't lose.

He is on a pretty good fence right now, either way he falls, he will be happy I believe. tell him to hit both and see which ones "feel" better to him. If he still cant decide, tell him to look at both and which ones does he like the look of better. He can always flip a coin.

He has hit both...and likes them equally. I suggested the Ping G10's, but they are out of his price range. If he goes with looks, IMHO, its the TM's all the way.

If he likes the feel of both of them, then yeah, go with the looks.

You're not gonna want to be swinging clubs that you know you could've gotten something else that looks a lot cooler and still hit equally.

IMO, I like the looks of the 4D.
