Here are two videos of me hitting my driver at the range today:

Target Line View:

Face View:

The main thing I think I'm struggling with is finding the right slot on my backswing. I think my swing is a little too steep, which causes my usual miss to be a high fade/slice.

Another problem I noticed in my video is I pull up my head a little bit on my downswing, but I'm not sure how big of a problem this is, and what effect it has on my swing.

Any advice on either of these two problems, or the many other problems you will probably find in my swing is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

A possibility is that your hips are unwinding too fast, slow down the rotation of your hips on your down swing and it would give you a chance to get 'underneath' the ball on the down swing, in other words it should help you hit a draw.

I'm not sure if it's the camera angle or not, but your upper body looks to be aligned with too much weight on your front foot. Try to get the weight back a little. It will help you tilt your spine angle back at address as yours seems to be pointing down the target line. This is important with all clubs, but especially the driver. Again this may just be the camera angle but it looks somewhat pronounced.

Also, you're reverse pivoting. Your hips are sliding away from the target as you reach the top of your back swing. You have to compensate with a large lateral move forward and this is probably causing the excessive hip turn the other poster mentioned. This can probably be fixed by adjusting your address position so as to get more weight on the back foot and get the spine angled slightly away from the target.

Also, Attempting to stabilize the right leg by keeping it flexed and perhaps pointing the knee in may further help to reduce the rocking backwards.

Some very good things in your swing, particularly, you have not ignored the hips as the trigger for the downswing.

Very easy to overdo it however and put yourself out of balance. Watch your front foot. It starts in one position and ends up flared out even more to the target. The fact that you can't hold a balanced finish without feet shuffling says you need to spend some time swinging at about 60% and smoothing your swing tempo.

No need to swing out of your shoes. Great distance and ball-striking comes from relaxed muscles, firm balance, and good tempo.

Good luck!
