Mizuno MP33. Deal or no deal?

I have been playing Taylormade LT2 irons for the past three years and I enjoy them. I am currently a 3.8 handicap, been as low as a 2.1 (last summer), and I am thinking about purchasing a set of MP33's off of ebay as I have been interesting in hitting a blade rather than cavity back. I pride myself in my ball striking abilities and I love working the ball. So, I feel like the LT's are holding me back with the offset.

So here is the question(s). Do you guys think it is worth it to buy a used set of MP33 off of ebay for around $280? Bargain or not? And how much difference will I notice between the LT's and MP33's?

Also, how long will a set of irons last before you will notice an effect on the playability?

I bought my set of Mp 33 on ebay for about $250 - $260 including shipping costs. The condition of the mp33 were fine for me, I would say about a 7-8 out of 10 condition. I played the Mizuno mp30 before buying the mp33.

I have had them for about a year and a half and love them. They are not hard to hit and I love the look and feel of the irons.

$280 sounds like a fair price. I have about 55 transaction on ebay and you may already know this but make sure that the seller has close to 100% on his feedbacks and over 500 transactions to feel safe. The pictures should be of the irons you are buying.

Good luck and go for them, you will love the mp33s, what shaft are you getting? I have dynamic golf R300s with the original mizuno grips.

I would get the Dynamic Gold S300. I just don't know is 280 is the right price ah.

I looked on ebay and did not see the mp 33 for about $280. I was going to give you my opinion on the clubs if I saw them.

I also have RAC LTs and a set of MP33s. I play the MP33s now but when practice time gets skimpy, I don't hit the ball well enough for them. $280 may be a bit much... Find someone who has a set that's looking to trade them in. I can only get $175 or so for trade in value so you may be able to get some for less.

I just bought a used set (2-PW) for $150 at my local Golf Galaxy today. It was in incredible condition, and I could not pass even though I had just bought the AP2s several weeks ago. I just hit these at the range and they felt so good - I thought I would just practice with these since they were supposed to be less forgiving, but now am debating whether these should go in the bag. Argh!

I am also confused with shaft selections now - my AP2s were fitted to PX 5.5 and these are Rifle 6.5 - what is supposed to be the difference - I couldn't tell although I did hit the 33s a lot higher (may be due to loft?) Anyways, enough with the rambling - probably for a diferent thread.

You can place an ad in the marketplace room. You might find someone who is willing to sell you a set. You can also try www.ironfinder.com . If you want a 4-PW, you should be able to get it for about $210.

I just had this discussion with golf_junkie who asked me if I was pushing with the Rifle 6.5 - which I am not. I have had no problems with that shaft although I am pulling my AP2s a bit, which has me concerned about my shaft fitting.

I personally need to get my swing checked because just a month ago I was playing Ping I3+ with R300 (my first set), got fitted for the AP2s with Project X 5.5, and have had no problems hitting the MP-33 with the Rifle 6.5. I have been a slow swinger with little distance for the 4 years I have been playing this game. I played about 36 holes a week my first year. Then not so much the next 2 years due to other priorities (kid), but now I am getting back into it and have noticed significant changes/improvements in my swing (better lag and turn of shoulders)...all in all I am confused ( I was hitting 6- iron to 150yds my first year, but am reaching it with an 8-iron now even with the MP-33s), so may not be much help in telling the differences as I am trying to figure them out.
