Well the last few days i have been practicing alot since my lesson last tuesday but i dont seem to get consistant shots etc.

Its getting me down a wee bit. the thing is when i do connect it does fly very well. I have been at the range every day and then playing on course and today i ended up hitting 300 balls at the range over a long period and worked my way thru my bag ( took a long time ) been trying a few different things before i was happy but was unable to get correct feel all day due to playing off the mats etc

Well The problem i was having before lesson was a push fade and meant i was looking a bit of distance right thru the range of clubs etc but now when i connect good its a very small fade which is really good as i always had a fade in my game neway.
Think i just need to keep at it tho cause sometime am getting a pull now but thats due to me blocking with my follow thru as one of the things i need to adapt into my swing is like roll my hands over are contact which will cut out the push fade etc. I did leanr i need to slow down my swing a wee bit and watch the takeway of the club and keep eyes over the ball until contact as before i used to life my head early which caused the push fade etc.

Thing is am a little worried about playing this weekend as i have 36 holes 2mo at my home course then another 36 holes at a links course on sunday.

Am in 2 minds to withdraw and just continue pracitcing until i feel happy with my game.

300 balls!??!!!??! Holy Crap dude. That would kill me.

Maybe you should just rest a little, and let your body take a break. I know the pros practice daily and relentlessly, but they already have good, workable shot, ya know!

I say, take a little break, go over what your teacher/coach taught you without hitting balls--mostly mental. Then after a day break at least, go back to the range and take your time. Its not the amount of balls you hit, but how well you hit them.

thats the thing am sure i would feel better mentally if i was hitting off normal grass at practice range but even my home course has mats at the practice ground :(

i know its not the amount you hit but the quality but i was working on that tho and taking my time with each shot.

Thats the thing the next 2 days i have 72 holes and am in 2 minds to play or not?

You are a 4 handicap and having issues after a lesson? I wish I had your problems!!!

Seriously, I know that after any lesson I have I usually hit the ball very well for a day or two, then I have a few days of problems, and then I start hitting the ball well again. I don't know why it happens, but it does, and I have seen it happen with a lot of others too.

I'm not a pro, but my recommendation is to not hit so many balls, stick to the drills the pro had you do for at least one full practice session.

Good luck, but I would still play no matter what! I sure wish I were playing this weekend!!!!!!!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Didn't notice your handicap index earlier. . .Now I feel like a boob! You should be giving me advice dammit, LOL!!!

Just ease up on yourself.

Find a spot where you can actually hit off of grass for sure!

well guys update from today

I shot a 78 net 72 which means i made buffer this morning and shot 75 net 69 this afternoon the CSS is 70 for today and i know i got my handicap cut but there is still room for alot of improvement.

I continued to follow the changes the pro made apart from one thing which i did do off the tee. Which was roll hands over on follow thru. Without doing this with my wedges and irons i was hitting them well specially my wedges which i was impressed about.

Roll on 2mo and see what comes of it

    • Was Talking with a buddy last night and got to thinking how many different courses we have played and was a little underwhelmed at my count. I assumed I was around 100 give or take. After about an hour of racking my brain I realized Im right at or just above 60. There could be a few that I cant recall or don't have record of but overall felt like that was a decent number. 55 in Florida, 2 in Arizona, 1 in New Hampshire, 1 in Michigan, and 1 in Indiana.  Now a new goal of getting to that 100 courses. Plan is to get to 75 by end of year and have dates of courses already set to get me to 70 so 75 shouldn't be out of question.  Below is the list of courses:  State Courses AZ Phoenician AZ The Legacy FL Abbey Course at St. Leo FL Babe Zaharias FL Bardmoor FL Bent Tree FL Big Cypress Exec FL Big Cypress South FL Bloomingdale FL Bobcat Trail FL Champions Gate FL Chi Chi Rodriguez FL Clearwater Country Club FL Club Renaissance  FL Copperhead FL Countryway FL Cove Cay FL Cypress Creek FL Diamond Hill FL Falcons Fire FL Fox Hollow FL Freedom Fairways FL Greenfield Plantation FL Hawks Landing FL Heritage Harbour Bradenton FL Heritage Harbour Land o Lakes FL Heritage Isles FL Highlands Reserve FL lake Jovita North FL Lake Jovita South FL Lexington Oaks FL Links at Greenfield Plantation FL Links of Lake Bernadette FL Links of Sandpiper Lakeland FL Northdale FL Plantation Palms FL River Hills FL Rocky Point FL Rogers FL Saddlebrook- Plamer FL Saddlebrook- Saddlebrook FL Sandpiper Lakeland FL Sandpiper Suncity FL Scepter Golf Club Falcon FL Shalamar FL Seminole Lake Country Club FL Silver Dollar FL Silverado FL Streamsong Red FL Sugarmill Woods Cypress FL Sugarmill Woods Pine FL Summerfield FL Temple Terrace FL Waterlefe FL Wentworth FL Westchase FL World Woods Pine Barrons IN Rock Hollow MI Ravines NH Brookside
    • Shoot, forgot to post for day 20:  hit a couple of buckets at the range just focusing on form.     Day 21:  putting practice in the garage gaging my speed/distance.
