Un-realistic:

The interesting thing about the RX7 is that it has a Rotary Wankel engine with only 0.6 litres in capacity. It is a rocket ship though, 0-60 in 5.6 and will do 150 mph. They re quite rare and its hard to find one that hasn't been modified. Some would say that they re a bit too Fast and Furious

Well almost... They are a little over 0.6 litres per rotor housing, so they come out as a 1.3 liter for the 2-rotor versions. But you are right about finding one that has not been too modified. The one in the picture was bone stock when I bought it. THe only things I added to it were for reliability only.

Similar cars would include the Supra Turbo, a Skyline GTR, or a Toyota Celica GT4. They re all good Japanese pocket rockets, but the RX7 is easily the least common and the most classy of these cars.

Yep but again while it's 1.3L for a 2 rotor the way the combustion chamber works you're really getting about 2.6L equiv for a piston engine. I had a 05 RX-8 before the Lotus, it was a blast but sucked down premium gas like there was no tomorrow and only made 170 whp.

My dream car?

One that doesn't use any gas.

One that's quiet, still gets around comfortably (no silly limits like "goes up to 50 miles on a single charge!"), convenient (removable seats, roof rack for the kayaks, plenty of space for golf bags).

I want the car we could all be driving around right now if George W. Bush had invested 1% of what he's spent on the war in Iraq the day he took office into alternative energy sources for our automobiles.

It makes it hard when you know people who have your dream cars and ride in them fairly regularly! My father has a pretty tooled up A8 (though not an S) and my uncle has a DB9, amongst other things in his garage. Makes we whimper everytime I see it...

Mine is still the BMW M5 00 - 2003, costly about $23,000 - $35,000 for a 4 door car that can do 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds.

I would also put the Mercedes Benz S63 twin turbo rocket on my dream car list 0 - 60 in 4.4 seconds.

My uncle is always buying and selling high end cars. He had an SL63 AMG when I saw him last, I've been in some fast cars in my time but that thing was nuts, the fun part was slamming on the brakes hard and just hanging off the seatbelts.

The problem with driving a car like that versus say the SL55 AMG is that it comes with wheels and a body kit that make it look more hotted up. As a result every bugger and their brother wants to race you. About 18 months ago my father had a BMW M6 and he got bored of morons in Subaru Imprezas wanting to race on the motorway...the first couple of times it was fun watching them just disappear very quickly into the rear view mirror then slowing to 80mph and letting them pass
