In your opinion, are these clinics whether they are Short Game Clinics, or Total Game, or whatever, worth the money? Or is your money better spent with regular lessons?

Well of course it depends on what you value... if you can truly afford the 3 day clinic then go ahead... in the end regardless of what you do neither option will hurt you. Whether it be a 3 day clinic of a regular stream of lessons you're still working and thinking about your swing mechanics, strategy and ultimately improving your all around game.

Personally I'd rather a stream of lessons because this will allow you to take a lesson and then get out on the course and work things out. Then you'll be able to vocalize issues you're having with your instructor in future lessons.

The weekend clinics are a great time but personally I feel as if you'll get more out of your game if you consistently see an instuctor over a season.

Edit: That is of course if you have access to a quality teacher, if I had an opportunity for a weekend with Dave Pelz I'd choose Pelz over my local driving range pro.

If they are the same price, I'd say invididual lessons are alot better. If this clinic is in a group, the instructor can only pay a certain ammount of time to one person. While Individual the instructor has your fill undivided attention which can get more done in the time allotted.

It also may depend on whether you need some new equipment.

I know the ESPN schools give out a $400 Callaway Golf gift card (an extra $50 if you use AMEX card) if you attend one of their 1 day schools, which run $525. You also get a $300 credit toward one of their 3 day schools (which also give you a $400 Callaway gift card).

So, if you need $400 worth of Callaway stuff, $125 isn't bad for a full day of instruction. I guess the only downside is that it is a group lesson - they say no more than a student/teacher 6:1 ratio.

    • Day 555 - 2026-04-09 Played 17 holes (we skipped 6 to pass a group letting us through). Hit more good shots than I was expecting. 😄
    • Day 233 4-9 flow drill while focusing on better hip/chest rotation. Used mirror.
    • Comment:  Huh, I practiced regularly until 1/31, got busy in Feb-Mar (as I knew I would), and got reinspired today.  I have done some intermittent practice in the past two months, but let's get back on the daily practice wagon. Day 1, April 9 2026.  I worked on some pelvis turn limiting drills, doing one for several iterations before context switching to hit a few balls slowly (trying to retain that feeling), and repeating.
    • I’m thinking maybe Jason Day read my post. He’s sitting a -3 two off Rory and Burns.
    • Is it only the weekend broadcasts that have a low commercial count?  I feel like it has been a long while since I last watched a Thursday of the Masters, so maybe my recollection is off.  I feel today has a lot more than four minutes per hour of commercials, and far fewer of the fun stories they tell during the Sunday broadcast.
