I have started a few topics about Q School and had great responses to them. I recently took a look at the Canadian Tour Q School, and I noticed that they had a winter qualifier in FL this past March. The top 13 would earn their cards, and after 4 rounds the score that made it through was +6. That was much higher than I would have thought...is the Canadian Tour basically at the same level as tours like the Gateway? I would think Hooter's Tour players would have better scores than +6.

The scorecard always lies, as they say. Shooting +6 at the U.S. Open is different from shooting +6 at your home course on Wednesday. Now, I'm not saying that the Canadian Tour and the Hooters Tour are that far apart, but it's worth noting that the scores they get don't always tell you how the course is set up or how good players they are.

The Canadian Tour is an umbrella tour. There are OWGR points for some finishers. Some finishers get spots in some NWT and/or PGA Tour events (Gretzky Tournament and Canadian Open, IIRC). So it isn't a mini-tour, but then again, people on the tour are likely looking to graduate and go somewhere else.
