Well,

I've posted a few times in equipment, I've got the sticks bought that I need.

I played my first round of the year on Thursday, Dunham Hills in Hartland, MI. It's a tough course, long .. tight fairways, well maintained .. fired 39 on the back nine (my first nine) and 42 or so on the front. I had hit about 10 greens yet had no feel around them.

I also took my 6 year old out last night for her first 9 holes.

Anyways, the bug has hit me .. I havn't really thought about golf at all the last year, last round I played before thursday was last July or June, which isn't me! I like to play a few times a week or more if I could.

A local tournament is coming up that I used to play in a lot, it's a 3 day men's city tournament, played the weekend of the british open. I'm thinking about playing in it now ..

wondering how bad my game is going to be, my short game stinks now .. lol. Wondering if I'll have fun with it or just get frustrated.

check out MIAGT . They had about 60 members last year but due to the director's promotion diligence, they are nearing 300. I signed up this year but work and personal things have kept me away; I'm hoping I can get involved at the end of the month.

i played in that 2 years ago when it was every other weekend and about 5 - 10 people per flight (if that). I can't do it now because of being a single father of a 6 year old I only get 1 weekend a month free. :( Looks fun now, I'd do it if I could.

As long as your handicap is low enough to qualify for it and you want to play, I say go for it.
I think as long as you go into it planning to just have fun, play your best and whatever happens, happens; you will be fine.
