I currently carry a pretty standard mix of clubs (Driver, 3, 5 wood, 3-PW, 54°, 60°, and a putter) to make up my 14 clubs. Lately though, as I have been absolutely killing my driver, I find that I am in between my 54° and my PW (47°) quite a few times in a round and I want to work in a 50° or a 51° wedge. What should I cut?

Here is some more background to help with your suggestions. I hit my driver about 275 when I hit it on the screws, but my average is more like 255-260, my 3 wood 240 or so and my 5 220. My PW goes about 130 and my 54° about 105. I am looking for something in the 115-120 yard range. Rarely do I use my fairway woods, and I would have no problem cutting one except for the rare 220-240 yard par 3 and the rare par 5 that I can reach in two. I love my long irons and I have no trouble at all hitting them. I use my 3 (I hit it around 205) religiously when I need to hit a stinger from under a tree and usually that is my fairway club for my 2nd shot on par 5's. I was thinking about cutting my 4 iron, but I would kick myself for not having it for a 190 yard par 3.

What I don't want to happen is to have to switch out based on the course I am going to play. I will grow dependent on the new wedge if I do decide to put it in the bag and I don't want to have to take it out if there is a long par 3 for the course I am planning on playing.

cut the 5 wood out... especially since you hit your 3 iron a lot. the other option could be to keep the 5 wood and 3 iron but cut out your 4 iron

just a thought, remember you can always shorten a club by choking down a bit and hitting a high cut
