No question about it. Try Adams Hybrids. They were the innovator of hybrids. They make arguably the most forgiving hybrids.

Those Titleist hybrids are very nice. I think you will like them.

Cool. Ive been told that there isnt a lot of love for those clubs because its really easy to roll the club over, which results in a huge hook.

Considering that fact that most of my mishits are either a push or a push with a HUGE slice, I dont see myself hitting very many hooks.

I demo'd them for a while. I liked them quite a bit. I went with the Adams because of the consistency I was getting, and the forgiving nature of the clubs, but the Titleist were in my final 3.

Id thought about just waiting until next year and getting a Titleist 585H, but they look to me to be a lot like a 7-wood in terms of head size and like I said, I dont hit my woods very well.
Yesterday I was at a local sporting goods store and they had some Nike driving iron and thats what got me thinking about the 503H because its got a head a lot like a traditional iron, so I should be able to hit it fairly well.
I dunno, we'll just have to wait and see...

Sounds like you guys all like your hybrids. I recently bought a couple Titleist 503H (19* and 22*) off of Ebay, so it will be interesting to see how that works out.

This is kind of the same story with me, to a degree.

I am starting to hit my 5-i fairly well, and the rest on down are easier. However, from 3-wood to 5-i is a pretty big gap. And, I'm not too good with a fairway wood off the grass (only off a tee). So, I'm thinking the hybrids are right up my alley.

Thanks for all the tips, everyone. I'm keeping my eyes on the garage sales up here in this golfing community as well as eBay to see if I can find a used pair of hybrids.

I'm thinking a couple of decent ones will give me a good feel to know if I like them and what I want to spend on some good ones.

THANKS!

    • My flop shots are 6-7° down (AoA). Does that answer it? 😄  The longer answer is… You have to be able to do both shots.
    • I hope you don't mind me raising this one from the dead. I got shortgamechef's video access thing for a few months in 2024. I watched his yip fix videos (the general gist is similar to the first video above, but with a lot more detail) and it made a lot of sense. I was working on it in my backyard off a mat for a while and my yippy thing was mostly gone. Aside from anything else, the flop shot using that technique is so easy and controllable. But I got onto a golf course for the first time of the year and found myself by the green on a downslope with the ball sitting down a little in the rough and I was, not to put too fine a point on it, f***ed. Shallow is all well and good from a good flat lie and I understand it, but you can't make that your be all and end all. I still don't know if it's a good idea to use steep all the time or just when you need to. I have a hard enough time with one technique, let alone too.  Just got a pitching skillest lesson with Erik and unless I misunderstood things some, he wants me a bit steeper. @iacas - where do you fall on the steep vs shallow argument and how do you vary it according to need?
