Handicapping

I was looking at some people's score cards on this site and noticed that sometimes people are playing from the blues, sometimes the whites, sometimes the blacks. How could anyone handicap themselves if they keep changing their tee off spot?

If you use GHIN as your handicapping source, they make you select what tees you used for the particular round you entered. Then, they calculate it for you.

Each set of tees has a different course rating and slope.

And your course handicap is only due to slope, so you can be (as many of the guys I play against on Tuesdays are) a 22 from both the blues and whites, but if I were to play from the blues, they'd have to give me an extra 2 strokes because the ratings are (IIRC) 71.2 and 68.8, or a difference of 2.4, which rounds down to 2. In other words, a 22 handicap should shoot ~ 91 from the whites and ~93 from the blues on a good day. The logic seems to escape most of the 22s.
