Been trying and trying various balls the past few months.
Of course, the good ole' Prov1 is the way tog o, but what about if you can't play the Prov or want something lesser?
What I am trying to do is find a go to more affordable ball so I quit buying all types! I'll use the ProV1 when I'm swingin right or not in worry of losing it easily from hazrds or woods I do like the Nike One Platinum lately, then again same high $.

TO me the NXT Tour seems a little too hard, but does have good ball flight.
I have really been liking the Bridgestone E6+ lately. Feels good and decent flight.

What about Callaways? Specific?

I like the way the ProV compresses at impact, I think this is the main importance, of course it has to go decent. The E6+ just seems a little off, almost like it is heavier, maybe it isn't jumping off the face quick enough? WHo knows.

So, $20-$25 range I guess. I'd list the ones I've tried, but too many.
I did buy a box of Juice tonight, but just to try, I doubt they will when a permanent spot in my bag after a round.

Our local shop has the Bridgestone ball fitting this weekend, I plan to sing up, but they'll likely say the E6+, as I do slice a bit on my drives still and have a lower swing speed around 90 mph. +/- 5 mph

When I stop losing balls consistently I will just play the ProV's, but until then I am gonna stop hurting my wallet and helping the pond divers!

For some reason Callaways are interesting to me tonight. I saw Wally World had the older models, CRX? or whatever

What SHOULD be a $25 ball is the green Callaway Hot Bites ($30). They have the second softest cover in the entire industry behind the One Platinum (Golf Magazine Feb.2008). I get the exact same carry distances as the NXT tour but with what seems like a softer feel. But one man's soft is another man's mushy. Maybe worth a sleeve to see.

why dont you get refurbished prov1s they look as good as new (i cant tell the difference) the only downside is that they usallly have a logo of the company that refurbished them on the ball the usally are about 25$.

I actually just got a 2 pack of the grene sleeve, think it is hot bit. And...the shop is selling them out at $25, so maybe I better try them ASAP and buy the rest up!

When i was first getting started with the game i really liked Strata golf balls. Strata was later purchased by Topflight. I think that you should give the "higher" end Topflights a try. I actually have a friend who is a 4 handicapper who uses Topflight every now and then.

The Noodle+ plays really well in that price range. Long on the tee and pretty soft around the green. Its my discount ball. But the Callaway Tour ix is a fantastic ball, and I would really recommend it.

Actually, I like to play with expensive balls every round though, as a mental thing. I find that knowing it won't hurt me to lose a ball sometimes causes me to take a different mental approach, not putting my best swing on every shot.

MAkes total sense actually.

I used to love the Noodels, though I haven't used them since the Noodle first came out, ugh, how long ago was that! I started back playing this year (after about 6-8 years off) and tried the cheaper Fire. I actually liked playing, but was just too firm. I guess like everything, it is give and take unless you pay the price.

Top Flite Gamer

The distance on it is pretty good, the bite is damn amazing for a 20$ ball. Look at the golf magazine that did ball test, They gave it a gold.

The Nike Juice ball isn't bad. I used that when I was starting out until I grooved my swing and stopped loosing a lot of balls. Then I went to the NXT's.
From there I went to Nike One Black..and now I'm just in love with the Prov performance BUT

The Bridgestone E6 is awesome. It's HOT off of the face and still has control
Noodle's are great too.
my favorite ball under $20 - DT Solo. I loved those suckers last year.
But try the NXT's you can get them for $25 from Dicks when they have their coupons and sales.

I second the E6 idea. It is my favorite ball and all I play now.

What does everybody think about the DT Roll and the DT Carry?

I've got a sleeve of each to tryout, but i lose balls alot so who knows how long they'll last. My uncle uses them and likes them for the price.

I don't think you can beat Srixon's AD333 for a more affordable ball.

PS I have been trying different balls lately just so not to be part of the pro v1 crowd. I like the Bridgestone B330s, Srixon Z-URS and Nike one. They are all very good but the pro v1 is just that little bit better.

Wal, try the Callaway Tour ix. it's not a bad premium ball at all
and the Taylormade TP Red

at the end of the day it's preference...as well as performance.
I think all of the premium balls have their niche in the market... but prov's are just respected as being...well the sh**....
except i loved the 2006 ball more than the 07...and a lot of ppl agree with me on that when we talk.

Could be the best suggestion yet!

As above, the Juice played well all around for me, woulda liked a littlemore stopping action, but heh, who am I kidding I can't check the ball on purpose! Didn't seem as long as I thought it would be and seemed to go HIGH. I think z mix of Juice, E6, and ProV will work just fine. But, still gonna keep trying sleeves.
