Like the title states, shooting high 40's on 9, and low 100's on 18..I don't want to go to a course and look like an idiot, but I do want to go have fun.

Any recommendations?

The Snow Mountain and Sun Mountain courses at the Paiute Reservation are two nice courses that are fairly forgiving for high handicappers. Play them from the front tees and don't use driver off the tee and you should have a great time at these beautiful courses

All I've played in Vegas is The Revere Concord. It was beautiful, but pricey.

If you are shooting high 40's and low 100's shouldn't your handicap be more like mine? I'm shooting around 46 - 49 on 9, and 98 to 103 on 18.

why don't you play from the gold at bali hali?? It's not so difficult.

I think I did some wrong figuring somewhere, because yes, I think it should be about 10 points higher!

Angel Park has 3 different courses, the most "user-friendly" would be the Palms course. Big fairways, large greens, relatively flat course. It's always in pretty nice shape. They also have a Par 3 course, and an 18 hole miniature golf track that is made from real greens. Nice driving range too! The mini golf is a hoot, one of the holes is 70 yards! My buddy putted one into the lake, this is no putt putt! For the price of Bali Hai, you can play Angel Park 4-5 times. Another nice course nearby is The Legacy. It's a tad more challenging than AP, but not so difficult you want to hang yourself. If you do decide to play Las Prados, bring lots of balls and reread the "I broke a window" thread. It's a short course lined with houses on almost every fairway, leave the driver in the bag. It's priced right though and you will have fun there!

Who cares if you stink,go have fun.
Do you care if you look silly at the Black Jack table ?
Good suggestions above.
Several courses in and around Summerlin just west of town.
Badlands has a decent twilight rate and several Tee boxes to play from.

Paiute is very nice and has a great replay policy, so you can get 36 in (2 different courses) very easily. As mentioned, it's about a 30 min drive from the Strip. In the other direction, about 45 min south, are the Primm courses. They had some amazing deals this past summer. I am a high handicapper (100-110) and enjoyed both of these facilities very much. I also think Badlands is a terrific layout and not ridiculously expensive.

I wholeheartedly second Angel Park, it's 15-20 minutes drive from the strip, course is relatively well maintained, and it's a great value play.

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
