Why not have the golf balls pre-gyroed? You know what i'm talking about?

Have each ball have the "AIM" line written across where the axis of the ball is. So before every ball is packaged, put it through a larger version of the ball gyro that is sold to us consumers. Its a great marketing idea! Do it!

Wouldn't that make the balls incredibly expensive? Who in their right mind would pay $60 for a dozen balls (nevermind, lots of people would.)

Actually, wouldn't the balls get out of round just from the jostling they took in shipping?

Except, testing has found that the "sweet spot" marked by those gizmos changes every time the ball is struck.

Can you provide a reference to this data? I would be interested in reading.

Driver: 400 SZ
Irons: Maltby custom fit KE4's
Sandwedge: Maltby Slider

Crap. I read it a couple of years ago, but I can't remember where now.

I will Google and see if it pops up again. EDIT: Sorry CT, I wasn't able to locate anything. My best recollection is that it was in one of those articles reviewing potential golf accessories for Christmas gifts. Not in Golf or Golf Digest magazines, but somewhere on a reputable website. I wish I could provide more info. Maybe someone who owns one could mark a ball, whack it hard a coupe of times with a driver and iron, and then see if the gizmo still marks it in the same place the second time?
