I am having a hard time desiding between the two any opinions about this drivers and does anyone have this and how do they hit it.

my dad really liked the ft-5. he tested the 907, taylormade burner, SQ, and he hit the callaway a good 10 yards further than anything else. but he couldn't shape it for his life.

Im not sure about the i, but they can't have a huge difference.

I just got an FT-5 I-Mix and I did spend some time with the FT-I. Both were very good but ultimately I went w/the FT-5. I had very good control with both clubs although I did hit the FT-5 a tad further. The FT-I was a bit straighter though, of course it was shorter as well which would result in straighter mis hits since they aren't going as far anyway.

The FT-5 also had a better feel and look to me. I could also work the ball left to right or right to left (or hit it straight) with the FT-5. With the FT-I, it was a lot more difficult to get the ball to turn over (that's actually part of the design w/the FT-I).

I would suggest that you spend some time hitting both. If you can't hit them on a range, hit them in a swing analyzer and see what you think. In the end I think that I would have been happy with either as they are both good club heads.

My personal opinion is that the square headed driver is used as a more forgiveness club. Both are great drivers.

yeah thats what I heard is the squared one is for forgiveness

Yea, it's also good to induce dry-heaving.

gills what does that mean?

sorry, I should've put a sarcastic smiley in because it is irrelevant to what you're asking.

I mean that the square drivers make me want to throw up! I hate the way they look and feel. That alone would make me want to get the FT5 instead ;)

I have a g 10 right now and I like it but I was fitted wrong for it and I hit it way to high and I just dont like it now. I bought a ft-5 tonight with a v2 stiff shaft in it
