I play a late 90s Titleist 3W right now.
I recently demoed a new Ping 3W and was amazed at how the ball was jumping off the face. It felt like a titanium driver at impact but I am not sure if it was Ti.

Do many of the newer 3W's have these hot faces was this specific for the PING?

Does anyone else notice such a drastic difference between the newer 3W's and those from 5-10 years ago? No wonder Phil doesn't need driver!

The G10 series fairway woods are stainless steel....not sure if the other series are titatanium or steel.

I know what you mean about the difference. I'm replacing my old 3 wood with one soon.

It is amazing how the shafts and heads have progressed.

Welcome to the club! I couldn't hit a 3W even if my life depended on it. Until I demoed the G10 3W and it is a great club, its not titanium, its caroenter steel. Am using it off the deck and off the tee!

Same here. My old fairway woods were TM Burners with the Bubble Shafts, circa early 90s. I was so inconsistent with those clubs that I finally got rid of them and, for a time, didn't carry any fairway woods at all. Recently I picked up a Sonartec 14* GS Tour Driving Cavity that was on clearance for $80. It has the Red Ice stiff shaft. When that club first hit the market it was about $350. Anyway, I am amazed at how well I hit the ball with it. Distance is almost the same as my driver and I can work the ball both ways. I can even hit it straight. It's become my go to club for long distance second shots.

15 under.

His is 15+, indicating it's over 15.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...
