How badly does the wind effect your game?

Today went out to play 9 winds were around 20-30 I'd say, and on one hole wind at my face 140 yrd shot slightly uphill would normally hit a 9I pulled out a 7I insted and was still 20 yrds short. shot a 48 normally shoot around 42-44. How Does the wind/weather effect everyone else?

Everyone but Paddy Harrington it would seem.
Its one off those things, just except your not going to hit a record score and judge yourself against the other players rather than the card.
You can help yourself of corse by keeping the ball under the wind !

Can be trouble if you don't compensate for it, better but tricky if you do.

played with/against 30-40 MPH winds, played all the par 3's with a 3 wood and was still short. To make it worse we decided to play from the tips.

I can really adjust though, and it wasn't too difficult when the wind was with us. I managed an 82.

Living in Kansas you get use to playing in the wind. You either learn how to play the knock down shot or live in frustration.

knockdowns, bump-in-runs, adjust club selection, hold shots into wind, don't swing as hard... and hope to manage a decent score.

It does have an effect, but its not that big of a deal. You just factor in how the wind will effect the shot and compensate for it.
Its one of the things I love about this game. You are constantly thinking and calculating how you should hit your shot (and then you make a mistake and your plan totally gets thrown out the window).

The wind definitely affects scores. You can learn to play in it, but the scores won't be as low as they would be on a calm day.

As long as it's not more than a couple clubs wind then I can shoot very close to what I usually do.
