Hey guys,

I am looking into picking up some new wedges and am looking to carry a 53 and 58 degree wedges

The wedges I am looking at picking up are only currently available in a 51 and 60 degrees. Is it possible to bend the 51 down to a 53 and the 60 up to 58?

The wedges are a forged model, just curious about peoples experience changing lofts

i havent done this myself, but i have heard that you dont want to go anymore than 2º in any one direction, at the risk of compomising the integrity of the metal. so it sounds like you should be ok.

Cast clubs I think can go up to 2*. Forged - more than that...4* maybe? Either way, you should be fine.

2* will be fine, no problem at all. Something to keep in mind though when bending wedges (or irons for that matter as well) to add loft is that adding loft will also increase bounce, the opposite happens if you bend them to be stronger.

If you go weaker in the loft you'll need a clubfitter to do some sole grinding to maintain the same bounce (try it as it is first), and remember that removing metal from the sole will decrease clubhead weight so you'll also need a load of lead tape to get it back to what it was.

You can definitely bend the wedges but remember if you bend a wedge stronger or weaker you effect the bounce angle as well. ie, you bend a 60* wedge with 4* of bounce to 58* you decrease the bounce angle by 2 degrees. So you'd be looking at a 58*/2* wedge.
