... In the interview with this 16 year old, she said her best ever round was a 61 at The International ... ouch! That dents the ego!

My buddy played there earlier this year and shot a 104 ... he's normally a 6 to 8 handicap (truely) ... hope to God he doesn't ever see this post ...

I must apologize, I should have checked the facts and not relied on memory. Apparently it was a 17 year old and a 66 at The International but still .... Heck the guys and I were discussing if we thought we could beat the 9 year old girl. The final consensus was yes but only if she played from the mens tees

and she wasn't having her career round that day.
"She brought out 17 year old Brittany Altomare of Shrewsbury and 9-year old Annie Spellane for a chance to hit balls with her. It is said don't share the stage with kids and animals but the person who said that never met Annika. ... Spellane, at 9, hits balls as well as many twice her age. Altomare is a player that may reach incredible heights. ... She has a low personal round of 66(at the International) and Annika seemed genuinely impressed when watching her hit balls."

Being able to drive the ball 300 yards is the single most lied about athletic feat in all of sports.

After reading some of the more recent threads I have to throw this in here.

Over-estimating driving distance is definately the #1 lied about thing in golf but what about all the people on here that have the ablity to work the ball when they need to? I have never in my life seen so many double digit handicappers that seem to be able to fade and draw the ball at will. When I was at that level I was just trying to hit the ball in the general direction I intended.
