What does offset in a putter do for you ?

I'd love to hear some viewpoints and what you feel are pros and cons.

it gets your hands ahead of the putter face to encourage stroking or sweeping instead of hitting the golf ball. Personally, I am a tapper so I hate offset. BUT if you have to stand on one leg with one eye closed and the ball goes in the hole then this is what you want. No style points in putting and no judges scoring, its just putting the ball into a hole.

I fully agree.....no right or wrong.....only the amount of strokes to get the ball in the jar.

      Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

      Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.

      Practicing my putting after work. I put five balls on the carpet and a mug on the other side. Once I make 3 out of 5 I can stop. If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
