Hey,

I'm looking for a new shaft for both my nike SQ hybrid and my TM Burner 3-wood. I would like to keep it below $100 per shaft, so a decently not expensive shaft, but I definately want a good shaft that fits me. What shafts should I look at? Just some info so you guys can help me...

The reason I'm getting a new shaft is because I have been hitting these clubs too high, so I want something with a lower ball flight.

I'm not a smooth swinger, more of a fast-tempo. My SS is around 105-110.

My handicap is about a 5.

Thanks.

Grafalloy Prolaunch red should work to get you that lower trajectory. I'm actually about to pull one out of my Adams A3 hybrid in stiff flex in favor of something that gives me a higher launch, if you're interested PM I'd be willing to let it go well within your budget.

What about the UST Proforce v2 hybrid and wood shaft?

It seems like for a long time they have been a really popular shaft for players looking for a good mix between price and performence.

Would it work for my swing though? I've heard it works better for people with more smooth swings though?

I think the Proforce V2 may work, it's not especially known to be a lower trajectory shaft more mid.

I would try the V2... its a great shaft that will give you mid launch and they are only $70 a shaft, but you might be able to get a deal if you find a good club fitter. I'm looking to put one of these shafts in my driver as soon as my club fitter gets one in stock.

    • Did you play the 2 holes with their temporary greens.  If so, I don't see why your score shouldn't count as it would normally.  I get the point that the hole does change but if everybody is playing the same conditions then I think it is fair
    • Just a suggestion.. do a left hand-only 'trial'. You can do in your living room. Ensure arm structure stays intact throughout the swing and the wrist does not break down until well after impact. It will possibly help you identify if it's a right side (trail) over/early-dominance, weight-shift timing, pivot stall, hand path issue, some combo of these, etc.
    • Yup, 3 triples, 8 bogeys and 7 pars I think.  So maybe 17 over.  But yeah, happy with the score, game and trophy
    • Why can't we easily fix the problems in our swing that we know about?
    • From what I heard over the weekend, Shedeur pulled a "Bo Callahan" with the Giants. Per Todd McShay: “Shedeur didn’t have a great interview with Brian Daboll in a private visit. An install package came in, preparation wasn’t there for it, he got called out on it, he didn’t like that. Brian didn’t appreciate him not liking it." You can have all the talent in the world (which I am not sure he has, as CU tailored the offense to his strength in a weak division ), but you have to act like a top round draft pick and not like an unproven legend! If you get drafter at 3 as a QB in the draft you are expected to lead that team, and preparation is part of that.  Playing ball in NY (any sport) requires you to deal with criticism, and deal with it as a professional.
