I a friend of mine had it.

I hit it twice and thought was a good driver for the money. Just make sure you get the correct flex and loft.

I hit the 10.5 regular flex and hit it perfectly, my SS is about 92 with the driver.

I had bought a Maxfli Powermax driver back in April... I bought it with my set of powermax irons I bought when Sports Authority had them on sale. I was able to find some reviews after buying it, but I loved the club. It has a very satisfying sound when you hit the ball, and I'm not good, but my average off the tee was 250. I was pleased with the performance for the price (I paid $80) for mine.

However this past weekend I was playing and hit a monster drive... but it sounded funny. I looked down and there was a crack on top of the head. It almost looks like it cracked on a seam, but I don't know that much about club construction to know.

Long story short Sports Authority gave me the run-around about replacing it, and Maxfli's website is under construction. So they gave me Taylormade's phone number, since they used to own Maxfli. I called Taylormade, and they informed me that there wasn't much they could do, since they were no longer associated.

The guy trying to help me wasn't having too much luck either, as far as getting me to the right people. So they graciously sent me a Tour Burner, as a free replacement to my Powermax! I just went to the range with it a couple days ago, and I couldn't be happier! For the money, I liked the Powermax, and thought they'd all be about the same. But after hitting this Tour Burner, I now believe that the more you spend on a driver, the nicer it will be for sure!

They sent you a Tour Burner to replace a Maxfli? Talk about great customer service.

Tell me about it, I was so happy they did that... the only downside though is that the tour burner won't have any warranty associated with it they said. But none the less... when it comes time for new clubs... I know where I'm looking first..

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
