Just bought myself some Titleist AP2's, and seeing as I have some £/$ in credit at my Pro shop, I'm looking to add a couple of Vokey Wedges to the bag too, but torn as to what to get .......

The new lineup due out in October looks great, particularly the Black Nickel - if I can wait that long Love the look of the Oil Can too, but I dont like the way it 'rusts'. My current Beryllium Copper lob wedge has 'aged', dullened etc, but rust I wouldnt like.

What Bounce does everyone play with ? My current Sand wedge has a lot of Bounce, which I really havent liked as it makes it difficult to get under the ball on hard/tight lies, whereas my Lob is very low bounce and is nice and easy to slide under the ball off any lie really.
I arent a big divot taker, so I guess I dont want anything described as a 'Digger' on the specifications.

I was thinking of perhaps 2 Spin Milled at 54 & 60 degrees, either both with 8deg bounce or the lob with 4deg ?

Never really thought about this a great deal before......as quite clearly I perhaps should have !!

In my Bag:
909D2 10.5deg DFX Stiff
WarBird 5 Wood - steel shaft.
Titleist AP2 3-PW
Vokey Spin Milled 54 & 60deg 2 Ball Ball : ProV's.

i am in the same boat.

just got myself some new titleist irons and want to get matching wedges but, i think as you are, i'm going to wait for the black nickels to come out and then get re-fitted in the spring for them along with all of the 909 woods.

the rust makes it spin more

Time once again to break out the broken record: wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

And my Oil Can Vokeys don't rust. Just keep them dry. The finish will wear off and you'll eventually have a raw wedge.

Thanks Iacas. Every week I seem like I am doing the same thing. They do not spin more. However mine do rust and I dry them on every shot. But they look great and spin fantastic.

After doing some reading I have to apoligize for the post above. I based that on info from the pro shop owner who sold me my wedges. (best golf in green bay) It sounded good to me.
My 588's do spin more for me, maybe just because of the raw finish?

Anyway, thanks for setting me straight, thats why I'm here, to learn.

Personally I'm waiting on the October release. The plan is to switch to a 4 wedge configuration. I'll stick with the PW that I've got now (Ping i3 Blade) and compliment that with 3 Vokey black nickel wedges; 52.08, 56.14, & 60.04. That's the current plan anyway. I suppose that things could change over the winter months.
