Changing lie angle on AP2's

If I were to buy a new set of Ap2's, could I get them bent to 2* upright from a standard lie? The pro at my club seemed to think that they have a special layer which cracks if tghey are bent. Is this true and does anyone have experience with this?

Mike- Your best bet would be to call or email titleist. I have AP2's as well and bought them standard lie with the intent to have them bent if I needed it. Titleist phone customer service is pretty good so you should get an answer in one call.

I bought a set of AP2s bent to 2* flat. Of course, that was from the factory so I am sure they were made that way. But, after they arrived and I noticed from course play that I was all over the place, i took them to my local golf shop to hve the lie angles measured. They were all over the place. One club was 1* upright. The point is I had them all bent back to 2* flat and a couple of them had to go 3* to get there. That was about a month ago and I have no cracking whatsoever on any of the clubs.

FWIW, the irons have a lie angle range of six degrees. For a righty, it's up to 4* upright and 2* flat. For a lefty its 2* upright.

Yeah I saw that. I tried them in +.5" and 2* up and I hit those well.
