I am a big KU basketball fan, have been since I was a kid in the 70s. Really disappointed in a couple of our big stars (Chalmers and Arthur) from last years National Champion team. Smoking pot? Are you kidding me? Normally I would say, well, it's just a little pot, at least it wasn't steroids, but I hold KU players to a higher standard. I don't really know what kind of drug testing policy the NBA has (don't really follow it) but couldn't they have held off for 4 days without getting high? Stupid move. Get busted, get sent home, have to go through this 4 day rookie thing again next year. Might be suspended, probably fined. Professional athletes have such a good thing going (get paid very well for playing a game) it's too bad so many of them don't have any common sense.

Smoking pot and having girls in their room. Apparently, that's a no-no at the symposium. The NBA used to not test for marijuana but I'm not sure if that is still the case. You would think a 2nd round draft pick like Chalmers would be a little smarter since his entire contract is not guaranteed.

With the background checks the NBA does, it's now not surprising that Arthur fell so far.

Couldn't agree more. If someone can't control their willy and their weed habit for 4 days, they've got some issues.

But the real reason I posted is because I think "Rock Chalk, Poke Smot" would have been a better title. Because . . . ya' know . . . it rhymes!

I didn't mention the girls in the room, because that was in the story.

I figured that if it was just girls it wouldn't have been such a story but I forgot that this is the NBA we're talking about!

Still, stupid bonehead moves on their parts.
