While I am sure this has been asked here in many variations, I have a question about which additional wedges to buy:

I have Callaway x18s and I think the PW is 45 degrees. My only other wedge is a Cleveland 588 RS which is 60 degrees. (I like these both very much.)

Which wedge or wedges would fit best with this combo and which brands/models are best for a hi-handicapper (shoots in the 90s)?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

If you like the Cleveland 588, I would recommend sticking with those. The next thing you have to decide is what gaps you want. At 45 and 60, you can add one or two. I would think the logical choice is 50 and 55.

I asked this just the other day and was in a similar situation (PW=44, had a 56 CG11). I had several good replies, Birdieman's included, and went with a Vokey 50 and Vokey SM56. I don't think I'll need a 60 until I get more practice with the wedges. If you want to keep the degrees equal, 50 and 55 make sense, but it may depend on which manufacturer you want. Not sure if Cleveland has a 55, without having to have it bent, but I don't see how a 56 would make much more difference. Otherwise I agree with the 50,55, or 52 (if only buying 1).

While I am sure this has been asked here in many variations, I have a question about which additional wedges to buy:

How many wedges do you want? With the pitching wedge up to 45 degrees, many people go with 4, making them 45-50-55-60. Others are going to have three wedges no matter what, and will make them 45-52-60 or so. I don't know what lofts are available in the wedges you like. The X-20s, which I'm assuming are similar to the X18s (but I don't know much about Callaway clubs), have AW and SW available in that set itself, so that's another option. Those are 50 and 55, respectively.
