If they feel good when you hit them, who cares what they look like. Looks to me like they just need a little TLC to clean up. My dad used the same set of Ping Eyes for over 20 years. He still got a great price for them when he sold em.

I'm just curious why someone with a 17+ index is playing ZB's? The AP1's seem like a much better fitting iron?

But on the topic of the irons, even if they have 50 rounds in them instead of 5, there's plenty of golf left in them. Irons are very durable, even if they look worn down there's a lot of golf in irons. You should be able to play irons for several years. Besides even if the original owner of these got them the second they were released, he's had them BARELY for a year if that.

So I'd say you got a good deal overall, even if they weren't exactly what you were thinking they were.

I guess you should've asked for more pictures. My dad bought a set of MP-32s with DGS300s and the auction didn't even have pictures. We lucked out though, they were pretty much new. Those ZBs were definitely not played for only 5 rounds, unless the seller played them for five rounds in a hurricane and never washed the clubs. The picture on the auction though, the top iron with the face showing didn't seem to be in very good condition. As for the grips, the golf prides are great grips. The ZBs should be very playable though, the aesthetics will probably not affect the performance of the club.

These irons should be fine if the grooves are still fairly sharp and clean.

the 7 iron has it the worst

^ yea i agree all the way. I mean sure their not brand new, but they are forged irons. They get beat up very easily. Also as he said, do you think there going to look brand new after youve finished playing alot of roudns with them?

just re-grip them and youll be fine.

although as one of the people said, i dont know why you would get those irons with a 17 handicap.. its going to make hitting good shots harder...

So far, I have been lucky buying used clubs off of ebay. Last club I won was in better shape than the pics showed them.

I can see getting pissed about the condition of the clubs, but the important thing is you got nice clubs at a good price, and now you can take them out and play.

Why not send them in somewhere to get refinished? I'm sure you will feel a little better about them then.

Definitely been played more than 5 rounds. Aren't those irons around 800 new? I'd say good deal if so.

As for the grips. I don't think that really tells you anything at all as to how old they are. I'm very picky about my grips and have to have them all the same. I remove all grips from my clubs as soon as I buy them and replace them with ones that I want.

They definitely have been played more than 5 rounds. Going by the pics, I don't think the playability is affected though. I'd be upset too if I was expecting clubs in "excellent" condition when they were not.

I wouldn't be too worried about how they'll play. It should be fine. I would give the seller neutral feedback though saying the clubs weren't in the stated condition.

Look on the bright side though, at least you got them. Some people order stuff online and get scammed all the time. These are great clubs and have fun with them!

ok ready for this i only got them for for $450 shipped cause i waited till they ended and no one bought them......i should of known thats why no one pulled the trigger...... so i offered him $450 i dident think he would take it but he did.... and there is no feedback system since i bought it out of auction

Edit : its not that i dident know that buying them i had a chance of getting a bad set of clubs, i did!...... i was hoping for better cond clubs but did not end up that way..... hey but thats the chances you take when buying used new is new but i was tight for cash..... im going to stop crying and just use them and ENJOY them

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
