I changed my grip this season to a much stronger, interlocking grip.
(I am lefty but this mirrors my top hand)

Left is new grip, Right is old:

This made me hit the ball so much more solid. I can't even stress how much better contact I make now. I find myself hitting par 5's in 2 and having so many more wedges into par 4's.

I believe so much of the game lies in the grip. I took a lesson this season and I wish I changed sooner. I took it to heart and changed, it was a BRUTAL process, but worth it!

Please share some thoughts and comments on your own grip and the grip in general.

At my very first lesson ever, my instructor changed my grip to that exact grip. He showed me the adjustments and then put me in front of a mirror. He said you should be able to see the logo on your glove. My left hand is a little more underneath the club too. Made a dramatic difference. I went from 120s to 90s almost immediately.

I have been struggling with the slice. I am a lefty also.

About two weeks ago, I switched to the exact same grip that you are describing, and it has worked great for me. I dont have to line up to the right of where I want my shots to go anymore. I line up on the pin. Ball flies alot straighter.

I am really excitied about how much this small adjustment has improved my game. I dont have it working perfectly yet, but it is alot better. I was debating on actually slowing my swing speed to try to help the slice problem, but now it doesnt look like I have to. I can keep my normal swing and hit it straight.
I shot an 84 today, and I am thrilled.

Just wanted to share.

Playing with a strong grip can work well (look at Zach Johnson, Boo Weekley, David Duval)

I experiment with it sometimes on the range but haven't taken it out to the course. I am usually impressed with the ball-striking I get.

Can anyone explain this?
I have been using this grip for quite a while...however with an overlap grip. I still would slice my driver 50% of the time. Went out yesterday and switched to the interlock.....nothing sliced. Coincedence ??

i have used and interlock for the past 4ish years now and i find it a whole lot more controlling versus other grips. i don't know exactly why you would hit it straight with a different grip, but your swing may have been on that day.

i am going to experiment with this strong grip on tuesday. i have lost some distance due to playing ping irons and my swing is no longer as fast, so i need all the distance i can get

My grip is the one thing I have trouble with. I always to check to make sure that it is not weak when I am not hitting it well.

Keep it on the short grass.
