PBFU= Post Birdie "F" Up. I'll let you use your imagination for what the "F" stands for. A PBFU, for those who don't know, is when you birdie a hole, and on the next hole, you shoot a bogey or worse.

I had a horrible PBFU on Wednesday. I got on the green in 3 (par 5) and made a 16 foot put for birdie. Then the very next hole, shot a double bogey.

Who else tends to screw up right after a nice birdie? And what are some ways to get my mind off of thinking about screwing up?

forget you made the birdie...... i do the same thing if i make a great shot or do somthing amazing "in my eyes" i tend to let my focus go away and think about $hit...... keep focusing on your whole game dont get exited for one hole and then blow up on the next..... dont think ok i got 1 im good...... think ok i got 1 im gonna make another one now keep positive and keep focusing on your game

Ya I tend to think about that birdie and how it cancelled out an earlier bogey.

Then I start thinking about my score and what I need to do to keep it low.

I gotta start playing shot by shot.

absolutely play shot by shot. and just advance to what you're going to do next. that goes the same for bad shots, stay in the current.

I always heard it as "FUAB".

Same thing. They both suck.

I used to do this a lot. I stilll do it some. My problem was letting my emotions get high after a birdie and not staying focused on the next shot. Now I try focus on keeping my emotions in check. I refuse to be happy after a birdie. The look on my face is like I just tapped in for bogie. If I can do this throughout the round and stay focused on the next shot, then I MIGHT be able to celebrate after I pull my ball from the 18th hole.

    • Just had a fantastic day of golf this morning. Played a local 72 par course that is somewhat challenging, not super hard but not easy. I had never been able to shoot anything better than a 96 on it. And hole 15 really gets to my head, literally every single time I get to hole 15 I mess up something terrible and end up with nothing better than a triple bogey or I just pick up my ball and walk to the next hole. Today I shot an 86, par'ed the 15th and had a total of 8 pars today. +9 on the front nine and and +5 on the back nine. Most of the pars were made with some very fortunate 1 putts. Overall felt great!
    • The OG 3 pros have been delivered. Initial reaction is this is a top detailed shoe and the pictures don’t do the new treads any justice. The feel is soft and upon a quick try on True remedied the heal rub some of the shoes had. Cannot wait to see the performance this weekend on the course.
