Does anyone else play any online sports video games? We'll just let this be a running thread. If you have a PS2 or XBox and ever want to schedule games with your fellow forum users, just post here.

Currently, I'm playing ESPN NFL 2K5, ESPN NHL 2k5 and EA Sports' NCAA 2005 (College Football). Eventually, I'll get my copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 and be online playing that, as well.

I'm always up for good, fun competition or an active league.

And that's why I'm trying to convince my wife to let me get a PS2 (no XBox for me -- I'm a Mac nut). I've got the Gamecube and love NBA Live and MVP Baseball.

Personally, I'm into fantasy baseball and basketball, and WhatIfSports , but I'm also a bit of a baseball nut.

PS2 is the way to go! :)

I have a PS2 and a GameCube. I like Tiger Woods on the GameCube more (and had nobody to play online, or I'd have purchased the PS2 version).

I too have NHL2K5 and NFL2K5 on the PS2. I have a nice little high-speed network in my house, and any time someone wants to play, by all means, we'll try it. I'm not sure I'd buy a copy of TW for the PS2 to play online, cuz I'd have to recreate everything, but if someone were to give me a copy... ha ha. I am looking to get a Nintendo DS too if for no other reason than I can play TW on that as well. Plus it has built in wireless networking. That'd be fun. Too bad we're only thousands of miles apart! Too bad the DS can't hook into existing wireless networks to play people truly "online."

Well Erik, I'm high-speed too, so we'll have to get together on both NHL2K5 and NFL2K5 sometime soon. If I find a way to copy TW2005 when I get it, I'll be happy to send it your way. ;)

I am holding out for the PSP. TW looks absolutely fantastic on it. Plus, I've always liked Sony products better than Nintendo.

Duplicating the TW2005 for PS2 should be a no-brainer and with the softmods out there for the hardware, no problemo. But that's a whole 'nother topic.

Okay Aaron, you may have beat me pretty badly the first time, but let's just call that your "handicap" win. I've given you your stroke. Now it's time to play!

Maybe I should go back to TW2004 on the GC and polish up the skillz a bit. Though I'm kinda taken with World of Warcraft at the moment. Just got done with a five hour session and I'm pooped. :) Time for some sleep before more quests tomorrow.

Addict.

I had to give up Everquest. My wife and I were getting obsessed. WoW looks amazing, but the time it requires to really enjoy it is just too much for me now.

Aint that the truth. :)

But the time it takes to really enjoy it really isn't all that much. In fact, I've been enjoying the game ever since I took my first steps. The *problem*, however, is that your satisfaction level never seems to rise to the point where you feel like you can stop (that sounds eerily similar to some drugs I've heard of). Anyhow, at this point in the game when it's still early on, there's always something to do and bedtime seems to come too fast. But I still think a casual player can get a ton of enjoyment out of the game. There's always groups of people that want help or are willing to lend a hand to someone else for questing if you don't have your own group. And no matter what you might think, there are people that are lower level than you are. Keeping that in mind will truly help. Anyhoo, enough of my rambling. I must get back to Westfall to lead that traitor to the mines so I can do the VanCleef quest. :)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
