New driver-- new ball ???

Hi All,

Well I just got the new 09 Burner since a friend of mine caved the side of my Adams A3 in. No more lessons with my clubs, but thats another thread.

Anyway I've been playing a Nike TA2-Spin ball. I picked up about 14 dozen from Golfsmith for 15 dollars a box. I love the spin and soft feel but I'm not sure if it's costing me distance off the tee.
I'm down to about 3 dozen and trying to figure out what to get next. I like to stick with the same ball so I know how it reacts with the wedges and putter.

Driver swing speed is around 103ish,
Playing conditions- southern california avg temp 65-75degrees.
Green conditions somewhat soft and receptive.
Handicap around 7 since I don't play too much anymore. hoping to change that.

id look at the nxt tour for a bit more distance, i play it in the winter to compensate for my pro v's not flying as far.

I used this info to get me down to 4 or 5 balls. Then after trying a sleeve of each, I commited to one so I know my distances with my irons and wedges better.

yea. the nxts are very nice balls. They have great distance off the tee, as well as decent spin around the greens. I use em and love em. i have used three balls for about twenty five rounds and they are very durable, even with vokey spin milled wedges. the burner o9 is a great club. i got it down to that and imix, but i chose i mix because i can keep updating it. I would definitely give the nxt a try.

Did he pay for your new club? Did adams replace the club? The balls you are playing are actually not that much of a high spinning ball, so no you are not loosing distance.

Gotta plug the E5+. I sound like a broken record...but it's a super ball. The NXT Tour would be the next in line if I were spending a bit more and the other ball in my sig is an unreal budget ball.

A newer ball that I think is worth looking at is the Bridgestone e7+. It's a lower trajectory ball for those of us who normally bring rain. It's not a high spin ball by any means, but it does still have a good feel. Personally, I have found it to be longer than other balls I've played (at least for my swing).

your defintly not losing distance my guess is that ball is around 7000 rpm spin wise so it wont lose you distance at all something at 1300 would or for some people 1100 and up but no was a ta 2 spin will lose you distance

for new balls try srixon zurs for premium priced middle range try nxt tour or srixon ad 333 low range try noodle plus or top flite gamer by ranges i meant price not quality nxt tour ad 333 top flite gammers are all nice balls

Does anyone have any actual spin numbers on this TA2 spin ball ? I love its spin and how soft it is, but i just feel like its not the longest in the bunch, but i don't have any numbers to verify that. I'm down to my last 2 dozen and looking for that ball for 09.. why cant' prov's just cost 25 bucks lol
