I'm thinking about a new putter. The Nike Unitized series are now as low as $85. I realize they are not Camerons in either pedigree or popularity. But after a little research I see they are forged and milled from the same steel as the Camerons and Redwoods. Of course when the price for the Nikes were $250 I would definately kick in another $50 for a Cameron, but now we're talking a $215 difference! BTW I think I'll be considering the Leo and Tiempo models. I've always used a plumbers neck hosel regardless of head style.

I'll be at Dick's Saturday rolling a lot of putters on their indoor turf. Should I consider the Nike Unitized? Love em, hate em or so-so? Any opinions by golfers that have hit these (especially in real course conditions) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have had the retro for over a year and I think it's the best putter I have ever had and also the best on the market.

The weight of the club is perfect imo.

Maybe not ideal if you want alot of assistance with allignment but otherwise it's great.

The weight really helps with the stroke.

losingmyedge , thanks for the input. I'm coming off of a mallet style, so heavy headed is great for me. I like the allignment on my current putter. Actually I love that putter. But I'm changing my address position on putts to a more upright stance. Since I'll now need a 35" I figured it might be a chance to go back to the blade. They may not be as automatic on the 3-5 footers as my Craze-E. But really, I should never blame that on the club.

I'm probably looking at the Leo or Tiempo styles (the Anser styles). But I might condiser some of their mallet styles IF (big IF) I liked the looks and feel. By looking at their website, I'm not much into their mallets so far.

I had looked at the Unitized putters earlier in the season, but had just decided to stick with my Voodoo. This topic made me look at them again. I couldn't pass up the Retro for $85, so I called the wife at work and told her I was ordering a Xmas gift for myself and went ahead and ordered it.

I tried the them they are great putters, Nike just had a terrible marketing strategy thats why they are like 75% off, but over all they are great putters. I love the look of the half mallet one (Phills style putter).

I've been looking at the Neo-Mid Unitized for some time. I hadn't realized that their prices had dropped quite so much. Guess I've been paying too much attention to the '09 releases and the new Scotty Squareback.

With the Unitized (which I have tried and really enjoy) for 1/3 the price, I don't think I can justify getting the Scotty if I get a new putter this year...

personally, i think nike has been producing great putters, and they are very underrated. i tried out a few Unitized's a few weeks back just messing around on the putting green. They have great feel and a classic, stylish look to them. I personally like the look of the Tiempo better, i tested that and the Leo before, the Neo as well. You might want to put a line on the putter if you need help with lining up putts.

Hi,

I tried lots and lots of putters and got stuck with the Nike Unitized. I felt the touch was great and I really got the feeling I can control the distance.

I have a Unitized Tiempo and Techno.
At the moment the Techno is my favorite. I dont see any disadvantage using a mallet putter.

I can shoot someclose up pictures,if requested.

Cheers

Thanks everybody's for the input! I've never ordered a club without hitting it first, but I gave my girlfriend the go ahead for ordering the Leo for me for Christmas. In fact it is already in. I'd like to start gaming it now since TGW has a 30 day playability garuntee. But there is no way I'd tell her if I didn't like it anyway, so I'll just wait until Christmas. I always played Anser styles until the mallet putter in my sig. I love that putter, but my address position is changing.
