im looking at buying some miura blades, but the guy that i might get them off has the wrong shafts for me on them. I was wondering how much money does it normally cost to put project x 6.0's in a 3-pw set?...this would include the shaft price and installation.
thanks guys

Im not sure about the project x but it costed about 40 for me to reshaft one club with the Dynamic golds so if thats true with the project x it should total at about 330ish. Im not entirely sure on this price but it's my best guess.

Project X's are being sold on ebay right now for around $130 on average for 3-PW thru ProShopWarehouse . when i bring in a set of irons to be reshafted, my shop charges me $40 for 8 clubs (the $40 includes pulling the old shafts, installing the new shafts and installing the new grips). the big chains like Golfsmith charge anywhere from $10 to $20 per club

Don't forget the grip cost as well. That's not a bank breaker, but just an additional cost.

Buying the PX's could be spendy, like around 230 bux. Before I did my own work it was 10 bux a club for shaft removal, cleaning and putting in new shafts, plus cost of grips.

I'd suggest you shaft them yourself, its not that hard. You can get everything you need at Golfsmith or Golf Galexy. If you do that you can also spine the shafts, which isn't that hard either. Just a note here on the PX's. If you are going to play 6.0 PX's you better have a very high ss. As an example, I'm a swinger, my 5i ss is 85 mph and I play PX 5.0's. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

i carry my 6 iron about 178, so ill be fine with 6.0's according to the royal precision website. im also only 15 and will be growing so i can count on my ss increasing. also how would i reshaft my irons... it seems like a big pain in the butt without using machines, regripping is a sinch though.

thanks for you help!

buy your 6.0 PX's thru proshopwarehouse on ebay. they sold for around $70 in the example i gave you above and these are BRAND NEW shafts too. usually they sell for around $100-$130, but sometimes (like in the previous example) you can get em for under $100 for a full 3-PW set. dont buy them from a retailer, you will spend waaay to much $$$ on them.
EDIT: by the way, here are some Projext X 6.0's from ProShopWarehouse where you dont have to wait for the auction to end, you can just use the BUY IT NOW option for $139 for the full set of 8 shafts: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ROYAL-PRECIS...1%7C240%3A1318
dont know if you need .370 or .355, but they offer both sizes

I agree about the 6.0's. My apology b/c I see soooo many people who think that they need 6.0 shafts and then think their clubs sucks b/c all they can hit are shots to the right. Of course a lot of them also have a driver ss < 95 mph and insist on playing Pro V1x's--anyway to your question.

I'd suggest first going to Golf Smith web site. They have a section on reshafting; read it and see if you want to do it. If you do just follow the instruction, it really isn't difficult. Also, IMO, if you do it I'd spine the shafts b/c it does make a difference if you are a 10 hc or less. This information, (on spining) can also be found by doing a search on the internet. (I prefer putting the spine at 12:00 o'clock in relation to the head with either steel or graphite). Another thought mite be to take the clubs to any shop that pulls shafts. Have them pull the shafts, p/u your clubs and do the rest yourself. Good luck with whichever you decide on.

I paid close to $500 for my project X shafts. That included grips, installation, frequency matching, etc. Basically, an entire "blueprinting" process. Most professional clubfitters will go through this process. This ensures that all shafts are playing to a specific flex, lengths are correct, that spining and flowing are all precise and fall between a certain +/-.

I'm sure that you can find others who can do this for you, for less. Just something to think about when you get them, installed.
