I went to the range today, and did a strange thing. I am right-handed, and not very strong in my wrists. I use a normal interlaced grip, going for the conventional. So on one shot, I wrapped my left thumb AROUND the grip, instead of having it pointing down the grip. The left thumb was now pressed against the bottom-pinky side of my right hand. I played a couple shots like this, and felt that it gives me some extra "strength" in my wrists?!?! Is this advisable? I would think not, since I played a couple of shots with a strong draw, but some other shots were fine, even felt better than with the conventional grip! Does someone else use this method of grip? Any thoughts are welcome.

There are some unusual grips out there. Jim Furyk uses a double-overlap grip, for example, with two fingers overlapping his left hand.

If it works for you, keep using it. What feels good may not be the best, so test it on the course a few times. But if it works, hey, good for you.
