Just wondering if anybody knows anything about shaft weight,I've looked and can't find anything clear on it.My driver shaft weight is 45 grams in a stiff flex,
i have never got fitted but hope to some day.It feels sometimes a bit flimsy
and i find that i have to stay extra smooth with it to stay in control.Does anybody know how shaft weight plays in the shaft whether it be 45 gram or 75 gram e.t.c.Thanks,i just want to know if it would be worth swapping it out with a fitting or just leave it.

In general, bigger hitters prefer heavier shafts. But this is (barely) a general guideline and really is more a matter of taste and preference (as in hard to predict). 45 grams is really light for an S flex shaft - and keep in mind that there is hardly any consistency between various "S flex shafts". And some shafts are (relatively speaking) stiff in the tip with a softer butt end, vice versa, and every thing in between. And then there is torque (resistance to twisting) which is a different parameter. If you have a sense of "this is a bit flimsey" I'd say that there is a good chance that a different shaft (which might or might not be heavier and might or might not be stiffer) would work better for you. A good clubfitter could be very helpful, I would think. dave

If you feel you need to add weight. Don't go buying a new shaft, add weight to the shaft internally, and the grip end. You are on your way to optimal weighting that club to what you like feel. Start lite, and add from there.
