So I finally started building a set for my little brother. I have given him my old Cleveland XL 10.5 which he is going to have cut down an inch and reshafted. I also got him a new taylormade putter 33", and a set of 3-PW Wilson fat shaft III, 3 & 4 are hyrbids. The thing about these clubs is that they are lofted pretty strongly, 3 hyrbid is at 17* and the PW is 43*. With the 3 iron at 17* I do not see much point in a 2 fairway wood set-up, I was thinking a 15* 3 wood, to act as a back up for the Driver since he will likely struggle with the Driver at first. (We've been to the range a few times and he's a natural ball striker with a decent swing speed thanks to his junior-tour tennis playing). With a 43* PW I am thinking if I may get him a 48* wedge or a 50* at the most. What are your guys thoughts on finishing off this beginner set, he is 14 years old. Thanks.

I already have a 48* Vokey 200 series that is hardly used, so I think I am going to give him that and then go with a 54*and 58* set-up. It might seem like a lot of choices for a beginner but the way I figure it the 48* will go in line with his irons for full shots, the 54* will have around a 12* bounce for sand and rough and the 58* will be for short pitches. To finish the set I am thinking a 14* or 15* 3 wood.
