I have read the posts on this forum that Pilates are good way to increase your flexibility and core strength. My daughters are big advocates and have encouraged me to give it a try. Any recommendations on DVD that fits what male golfers would be looking to gain from the use of Pilates?

I do pilates at least twice a day and it definitely has improve my flexibility and more importantly has kept my back loose and stretched out. I just turned 51 a month ago and I need to keep flexible. I have notice a gain in distance because of the added flexibility.

I dvd I recommend is:

Pilates
beginning mat workout
with Ana Caban

I actually only do the energy work out which takes about 10 minutes and I always feel great after I finish the exercise. I only warning is go easy the first few times because my neck was sore a few times I did the 100's because you keep you neck off the ground for so long. I would recommend breaking the 100's into 50's until you build up your neck muscles. Other than that the exercise are not too difficult and Ana Caban is easy on the eyes.

    • I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.
    • Day 150 1-10 focus on arching the wrist and getting the ball to go left. Recorded, hit foam balls.
    • Day 467 - 2026-01-10 Practiced at Pinehurst every day I was there, and before Junior Elite this morning I got fifteen minutes of backswing checks in the mirror in.
