I have seen a set of mp-32s (used) for a good price and wanted a bit more info/ opinions before deciding if I should get them or not. My questions are:
1. Do they have much offset?
2. Each club has a couple of degrees more loft than my current set so will they go shorter?
3. The description says the 9 iron and PW have dark marks on the hitting area. I know this is normal for well used forged irons but will the grooves still be ok?

1. They were a 'players' club so the offset is minimal.
2. If they are more loft, they will have shorter distances. You could have them bent to add a degree or two, but you will lose the original bounce. Depending on how far you hit the ball, the more loft may be good. You may hit an 8 where you used to hit a 9, but you will hit the 8 just as high as the old 9.
3. Tough one here. I had a set of forged Mizunos for 6-7 years and a few showed some wear on the face so it is normal. I have noticed a little bit of a difference with my new set, but I don't know if that is because they are brand new or if my others were worn. If those are the only two clubs you are probably okay. If there are a bunch of them that are worn you may have some issues. The nine and wedge were probably just the most used because they were used at a shorter course. If more clubs were like that then the whole set is well used and maybe a little suspect. Probably wouldn't cost much to get the two refinished and regrooved if they are bad.

If the price is cheap enough and you like them go for it. Checking e-bay to see how the price compares with similar sets would be pretty easy and will give you a good barometer on how good a deal it is.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I purchased a used set of MP32's for $265 and they were close to brand new condition. Shop around... the deals are there for clubs that are in good shape. I also have a set of MP57s that have seen 50 rounds plus ample range time this year and there isnt a discoloration in the hitting area so those 32's are probably well used.

In regards to your questions.. the offset is minimal. These were probably one of the best set of blades ever made in terms of performance IMO.

The lofts are standard for a "players" or "pro" iron so if they are weaker... then it might take some getting used to and figuring out your new yardages but if you are a good ball striker... those clubs are worth it.
