I would like to purchase a club from them but i would like to hit it to see what distance i am getting out of before i buy it. It is replacing my 5 wood and i need it to go in the neighborhood of 210-215 yards. The club woudl be a nickent 3dx dc hybrid 18.5* loft. They have the launch monitor but do you have to pay for that? I was wondering if any of you would know if there is some way i can figure how far i am hitting this club before i buy it.

Whenever I go, they don't charge me (or anyone else). I'm not sure that I have ever seen Nickent in the Dick's that I go to. The launch monitor or computer simulator that they have is somewhat accurate. I think they set it to inflate your distances a bit. I would hit an iron to guage how much they inflated the distance. Try a similarly lofted 6-iron and go from there.

My local Dick's doesn't normally carry it either but they got a special on they 3dx dc hybrids for 79.99 so i was thinking of getting one. As for the launch monitor maybe i am remebering that the fitting services with the launch monitor cost something. So you are saying just go in and say i would like to hit these two clubs in the launch monitor to see distances and it should cost nothing and get me the info i want.

Yeah...at least at my Dick's that's what you would do. I went in like once every two months last year to hit a few drivers to see if mine was obsolete yet. I didn't pay a dime to use the monitor. I have not tried their fitting service, nor would I trust that they do a good job.

You could probably ask to hit even more clubs. You could compare the Nickent vs. another top brand. I think the limit was 3 drivers and two other clubs. I once brought 5 clubs in there. Most of the time, I only brought two.
