So with tax time comeing around here soon, and after paying this card off I was gonna invest in some fit clubs. Here are the three I have chosen as of now:

1. Cleveland
-Hibore XLS driver, 3W, and Hybrid
-Cleveland cgReds
-Cleveland cg14 wedges.
-Cleveland putter

2. Ping
-G10 driver, 3W(or 4), hybrid(s)
-I10 irons
-i10 wedges
-Odyssey WH #2 or Sabertooth

3. TM
-last years burner driver,3W, Hybrids
-Tour burner irons...last years
-tour burner wedges, or pelz wedges
-The new blade rossa putter

I know I have a bad thing about matching set. But I am just out there for fun. Of course I will be having them fit. Distance is nice but forgiveness is better. If you have any points to either of them. Thank you. any first hand. Thank you. and if you can't help. Thanks for stoping by and trying.

Thanks guys

KyotE

I like the Ping sponsored bag but why not a Redwood Anser instead of the Odyssey? I'd switch that then rock on with the rest

In the bag:
905R 9.5° - UST ProForce V2 65R
909F2 15.5° Titleist Diamana 75
909H 19° Titleist Diamana 80
Zing 2 3-PW Vokey SM48.08 @ 51° Vokey SM56.11 Unitized Leo

I failed to put that but it hit me after that and that is what I would more than likely go.

I would say try Mizuno, but from those sets I would choose the ping.

Mizuno has a lot to chose from and I don't know much on their irons. I Just don't know what iron to start looking at. I know the mp57's are forgiving for what they offer but I also know that they have a higher price tag. These where just my three thoughts based off the lower end of what I think I can get. Should I have a little more then I will look into it. If you have anything in mind that runs the mizuno line-up that I can grow into but isn't too too hard for a mid HC and someone that has a few more bad days then good early in the season I would love to hear it.

I am only 19 and still in school so I won't be getting a mass amount. I only worked full time for the lesser part of 8 months last year. Thanks for the input and if any other ideas for a set comes up I would love to hear it. I have time and in no rush.

If you're wanting to stick with one company through the bag, both TaylorMade and Callaway are good choices since both are one-stop shopping (with Odyssey being the putter choice for Callaway). If money is an issue, TM has so many new models coming out every year that you can often get a 6 month old model for a good price. There are a lot of their clubs available online at different discount retails (such as RockBottomGolf.com and others) and eBay.

Mizuno would be great, but as you have noticed, they are expensive. The MP-52 is a really nice set of irons (more forgiving than MP-57 and usually listed at $100 less), but they are more of a 'players' iron. The MX-200 is a game improvement club in the $700 range (or less) and the MX-100 is a super game improvement club that is a little less. You could probably find the MX-25 irons for a good deal, or if you wanted to find an older model, you could look at the MX-23, which is a game improvement set from a few years back that are forgiving enough for your level, but also would allow your game to 'grow into them'. Mizuno also makes good stuff through the bag.

i grew up with a dad who refused to play anything but ping irons....

so i do lean towards pings more with my purchases...

i noticed you're looking for forgiveness.. yet you picked the i-10 model irons

if you want a more forgiving ping iron.. id personally go with the g10's. ive hit both.. the g10's are more forgiving, but harder to hit draws and fades... for me at least...

I chose the I10's because I am one of the people who don't like a large head. and I want something to grow into. The g10's to me look like a knee hockey stick. And most of my mis hits only come from long iron play so to try and help that I will be getting hybrids for 3 and 4 replacements. I understand what you are saying but when I had seen the two side by side I preferd the size of the i10. As for the titleist, I would love to have a full titleist bag, but they too are a little pricey. and from what i have hurd most of the irons are for great consistant ball strikers... Iam good but not great. I think the only ones that I have seen that based on looks without reaseach that could be okay for how I play are the 755cb and I can't find them with steel shafts.

Or I was thinking snake eyes stuff...I just don't know much about it or what I would be looking at.

What would be the best bang for my buck on forgivness and growability?

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
