Hey guys and gals, Ive been playing the same Scotty Cameron for years and i would like to know if anyone has any tips for rebuffing or restoring the club. I would like to avoid the expensive and time consuming process of sending the club back to the Cameron workshop. I want to rebuff the club but not sure how to go about it. I was wondering what you guys have heard or thought about doing to your Cameron's. let me know!

I know it's not the answer you are looking for, but the Cameron Custom Shop does such a good job it really is worth looking into it.

There is no way for the average person to restore a putter the way they do it. A soft buffing wheel on a bench grinder will work fine on the face and sole of the putter, depending on the finish, but there is no way to get in all the nooks and crannies. You can also try some paint remover to get the paint out and redo it on your own, but be careful because that stuff can be harmful to the finish also.

The Custom Shop can alter the lie, length and loft; they can change the finish, add your initials and other stamps, change the grip and paint fill. I took an old rusted, nicked up Cameron CLN Prototype and sent it back to the custom shop for restoration and it came back looking so gorgeous I didn't even want to play with it! Worth every penny.

What kind of shape is your putter in right now? If it's just buffing out some rust or maybe even some paintfill, DIY is simple.

Thanks for your great answer. I will look into sending my cameron in. I know the restoration process is worth the money i just hate how long it takes them. Thats so longggg without my baby! haha, for that reason alone i might not do it. maybe next winter.

I just bought some paint online to work on my Cameron at home. Do you have any suggestion for buffing/working out some dings?

Once you get a wand that is good for you it doesn't seem overly expensive to send it back to the "spa" every few years....especially if you would like to personalize it.

When it comes time for me to do so I wont worry....just game another putter for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to getting my last name on mine and maybe a few other unique features. May sound corny, but I do want a club that my son can have an appreciate in many, many years (hopefully). I want him to have something that helps him think of the time we spent together laughing on the golf course.

Depending on the finish, metal polish works well to get the shine back. Nothing you can really do for dings or nicks. Rust can be rubbed off, but just keep in mind that underneath the rust there isn't any finish. If this is meant to be just a gamer, then get it to the best shape you can and maintain it by wiping it dry after play and polish when needed. That's how I'm treating my Camerons.

Paintfill can really change up the look, just keep in mind that personalized putters lose value if its DIY. If there is any collectible value, or you plan to sell it one day, careful what changes you make. There are also several other shops that'll personalize or refinish a putter at a cheaper rate than the Custom Shop. Google it up, and maybe it fits your budget better.

I really want to send my putter in to the refurb shop. I have a studio design 1.5 and i really want to add my initials, take an inch off the length, possible modify lie angle, and most importantly refinish the finish (I have a bunch of spots in the finish).

However, I just read that they won't take the Black Pearl back to Black pearl. Instead they take it to the Circa 62 (Charcoal Mist) finish. I like that finish, and to be honest, I get frustrated with the glare on my Black Pearl finish, but I'm hesitant to change it just in case I miss the old finish...

Also, with all of my options, I think it takes it to almost the price of a whole new putter, but it would be MY CUSTOMIZED putter.

Anyone refinished a studio design putter?
