Voodoo Shaft Issues

I am looking to get the 909 d2 with the stock voodoo shaft in a stiff flex. Then I saw other people saying that with the voodoo they were losing the ball way right and left as scratch golfers and it seemed to play weak in flex. Anyone else have this problem with the stock voodoo shaft.

I think you should try to hit it yourself versus going off of what people on here are saying. It may not be the best shaft for some people, but it may work out perfectly for you. You will never know until you try it.

I think the best idea would be going to get fit. Not only will this solve your shaft problems, but it will also make you longer and straighter(no homo).

Im not asking for advice on which shaft just seems like people are missing out on a great driver because the shaft doesn't fit the description even though the shaft is made specifically for the head of the 909 d2. If this is a reacurring problem for 909 users, people may want to know they may want a stiffer shaft.

For some reason the Stock VooDoo shafts in the Titleists are nothing like the production VooDoo shafts.

Personally, If ya like the head, then get fitted for a proper shaft set up.

I havent noticed any problem with mine, but havent had it long either. I got fitted and for my swing the stock shaft was just fine. During the fitting my swing speed averaged 105mph, and I was generating backspin around 2,700.

I didn't say there was anything wrong...I said they are different...they profile completely different......

Heard the same thing about the Fubuki shaft on the Callaway FTi-Q from Callaway customer service, for what its worth.

Based on the one pull we did so far, I could confirm that too....this is not an uncommon practice in the OEM world...but the DEGREE of difference between factory installed and component versions of thees shafts is much greater than normal.

Well, according to Golfsmith's swing speed calculations, the Voodoo is a little weaker that other popular shafts. However, looking at your signature right now, it plays for pretty much the same swing speeds as the UST Proforce V2 (65 grams). The Golfsmith clubmaking book lists them both for swing speeds of 95-105 mph. Obviously, this is just a rough estimate and custom fitting is always the best way to go. Normally, I play regular shafts in driver because I have a smoother tempo, but when I tried the D3, I was using a stiff-shafted Voodoo and really hitting it far.
