Looking for a new carry bag for my 15 year old daughter. I picked her up a OGIO Diva, but feel at 5.5 lbs it is a tad to heavy for her to carry for 18 holes.

I am now deciding between the Mizuno Aerolite lll and the Ping Freestyle.

The bag must be light and carry well. Must also have enough capacity to hold typical items that may be needed on a round of golf...jacket, etc. Clubs must be easy in and easy out with little cluttering.

I have heard alot of positive comments about the ping but have not seen alot of reviews ont he mizuno. Any thoughts?

ive owned 3 different models of ping hoofers and ive loved them all.

i tested out a freestyle a couple weeks ago.. they are light but im not sure their exact weight... i liked the strap design but ive grown tired of the 4 way divider...

honestly.. if you buy a new bag that weighs 4 pounds... is one pound realy gonna make a difference?

Original AP1 4-GW

Maybe not on me and you, but on a rather petite girl that only weighs about 100 lbs soaking wet it might.

I've got a Titleist Sunday bag, I think they've changed the name on it for this year. It is maybe 3 pounds, holds a full set of clubs and I've taken to using it for anytime I walk, but it's sturdy enough to set on a cart if need be. My experience with young ladies, including my now 16 year old and her teammates, is that if you give them plenty of pockets, they will fill them, and lots of weight gets added if there is room for "stuff". This bag has enough room to hold rainpaints, jacket and/or sweater, but not too much room. Now they call it the ultralight stand bag, check the website.

Aerolite. My Aerolite (the original) has lasted for a few years already, has all the pockets I need, has a velcro glove holder, has a great club organizer system, and is feather weight. The Aerolite III beats the Freestyle by 1 pound, just as durable (if not more), and has a much easier to use club divider top.

5.5 lbs. will make a difference after 18 holes. Ping and Mizuno are both OK, my personal choice last year when I was looking for a new carry bag was the Titleist X-86, about 4 lbs., better storage than the Aerolite (last years), and better color selection.

Anyone with a review on the Aerolite III? It's not in •••••••••s around me but from the stock pictures it looks great, is 4 LBs and has what seems like a pretty good 7-way divider system.

On my third aerolite EXCELLENT!

Under 4 lbs, Kabuki club organizer is best around and Izzo straps are straightforward and comfy.

Look no further

    • Day 549, May 4, 2024 After lessons and working with Natalie, hit some balls for awhile. Just backswing stuff. Forgot about the slightly shorter stuff, though I'm sure it was as they were only about 75% speed with brief pauses.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
