This is a little off the beaten path. Curious as to whether any subscribe to Golfweek, and what your normal delivery experience has been.

I have just gone back to subscribing after a long absence. I missed the big magazine (which, just when I decide to subscribe, they decide to shrink!). Usually shows up Wednesday, sometimes Thursday of the week following the Saturday issue date, i.e. Feb. 14th issue shows up on Feb. 19th.

On the other hand Golf World dates their issues on Mondays, and it is usually in-home on the Saturday before. This may be just good marketing, however, the practical reality is they show up on time and 4 - 5 days earlier than GW.

It is somewhat comical the TV section, which includes "this week" is really "last week".

Calls to customer service have elicited some varying responses, no need to get into that.

Just wondering if others have similar or different experience.

I tended to get them on Thursdays, which was pretty much okay. I mean, they had tour coverage for the Sunday that was only four days before... tough to turn around a print magazine much more quickly than that.

You're on five days... that doesn't strike me as bad.

The CDGA (Chicago District Golf Association) gives a free Golfweek subscription when you sign up for your handicap. I'm not sure on the delivery day, but a great perk when I need to establish my handicap anyway.

No, I'm on twelve days. The issue I received yesterday, the February 14th issue, is the issue with the coverage of the Buick (the issues are dated forward, i.e. the February 21st issue will have coverage of the Crosby, and should be received sometime this week, but won't be received until late next week). That's the problem. Golf World does basically the same thing (they just forward date to Monday instead of Saturday), but has its issues out by Saturday following each tournament (within six days), Golfweek is coming an additional 5-6 days beyond that.

As you can see, I should be getting the issue with the coverage of the Crosby this week, i.e. today or tomorrow, but it actually doesn't come until later next week. So, my experience is quite a bit different than yours was.

    • These are the courses that I remember, but there may be others that I’m not remembering at the moment. • For me it was combo of good drama and total last man standing collapse... But it showed me once again that "ball rollback" is nonsense...when courses are set up to punish missed fairways and greens, that's where the quality golf (or total collapse) takes place...hurting the rest of us because a relatively few can bomb it 100 yards farther is idiotic...that Young bomb on 18 was gutsy... He misses the fairway with that he likely doesn't win, at least on that hole...
    • Followed by the longest drive on 18 in the shotlink era. That is a tough shot and he stood up there and did it. Fair play to him.
