Saw these on sale and figured I'd try 'em. I just wasn't in the mood to shell out big bucks for cannon fodder right now.

Taylor Made Burner......with LDP, whatever that means.

Gotta get the Sharpie out an put my mark on them and maybe game them tomorrow morning.

Anybody used these before?????

I have a sleeve in my house with the intention of testing them, but my golf season hasn't started yet. I've heard good things about these balls and I would like to see how they compare to the e6+

Used the Burner TP quite a lot this Winter. Really like and would recommend it. Haven't tried the straight Burner though but the specs say it doesn't spin as much as the TP which I don't think I'd like.

As for the Burner TP, it's pretty long. Decent trajectory; not too high and didn't balloon on me. Feels quite soft off the putter (good feel putting) and round the green on short chips; not too soft though. I got good spin out of it on irons; some of the shorter (8 and down) were screwing back 6-8 feet on me although this was on quite damp greens. I'd like to see what it can do on firmer greens but I don't think it reacts as much as, say, the ProV1. Very good cover shear resistance as well - lasts quite a while without being completely wrecked by wedges. Quite like the price - about £20 a dozen over here.

Overall, I think it could well be a good ball for the Autumn to Spring part of the year but, for me, I'm not sure it'll have the spin for the firmer Summer greens. We'll see though.

The LDP technology is supposed to maintain longer distance even on off-centre strikes. Not sure I believe a word of it myself.

I used the Burner (red box) and the Burner (silver box) last year and thought they were
okay. Not as bad as I thought htey would be.

Were a little hard to me, but had good distance.

Haven't used the normal Burner, but currently use the Burner TP and really like it. Feels great for me off every club. And I like it much more than the NXT Tours. And like it more than the Hot Bite's as well. Considering the price you can/could get them from from GPP I liked them tons more.

Actually did a test the other day on greenside chips on a side to side, Burner TP, V1 and V1x. For me, I didn't notice a difference between the v1 and v1x. Both stopped not a whole lot, but definitely noticebly sooner. Overall pretty negligible on normal shots. But I did notice a more exaggerated difference when chipping downhill and on slight mishits. But considering everything, I'd choose the Burner TP because I got them for $12/doz new and I bought 10 boxes :)

EDIT: As far as the LDP is concerned, I refuse to accept any truth in it.... but I have to admit that it does seem like my mishits are going further nowadays. Which honestly sucks most of the time because now I end up in trouble I'm not used to.

I've been using the burner TP the last few rounds as well and agree with these assessments. Its long and has decent check, seems to perform better given my swing speed (~95) than the tour balls. I'm not one that backs up a lot of balls but I did actually back one of these up 3 or 4 feet with the 56° a week ago, which is as much as I've ever backed up a "tour" ball - greens here are already probably in "summer" condition in the UK - today it was 86° according to my weather meter. Most shots seem to just stop dead off any short iron that is well struck, which in reality is probably a better thing than backing a ball up. I do think that LDP is pure marketing crap, however.

Also agree with the putting feel, and seems to be more resistant to scuffing than a Hot Bite or TF gamer (maybe the same as the E5+).

Used the regular Burner ball the last couple of outings.

Putts good and did okay with short work around the greens. Doesn't bite on full iron shots as well as the two in my sig line but certainly acceptable.

Not overly soft...not rock hard, either. Feel was okay.

Given the choice....I'll stick with the Noodle Plus ball in my sig line.

I'm gonna try some Nike PD Highs next. Just like changing things up a bit....might find something I like better.

    • Day 19 - 2026-01-08 10 minutes of net work. Feeling very good about changes but need to film soon. Next few days will be indoor mirror work as we head into the mountains.
    • Day 6: 2026.01.09 Some swing work in the mirror. Need to work on home setup to be able to get more out of evenings where I can't make it to the range.
    • I would like to amend my original comment on the new Maxfli irons. Yes, $800 for forged irons is a pretty good price and they do feel good BUT...I have since found out that $800 is only for off the shelf, standard issue clubs with standard lengths, lofts, lies and shafts. Any change made from stock results in huge up-charges so that the final price ends up pretty much the same as similar forged irons from any of the major manufacturers.
    • These were almost all included on the list of Clarifications or revised Model Local Rules released just a few days ago.  I'm pretty sure the first 3 are brand new MLRs (Moved/Wrong Place, Embedded Ball in someone else's pitch mark, Internal OB applies only to tee shot) that the PGA Tour is choosing to use.  The 16.1 Rule (relief near a Putting Green) was revised allowed a Committee to give relief for more than just Immoveable Obstructions, microphone holes would be classed as GUR (a hole made by the maintenance staff).  The replacement club rule was available before, the E-3 (Lift Clean and Place distance) could have been defined as "one scorecard" before, they're just a change in how the PGA choices. Here are the January 1 Clarifications and revised MLRs https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/rules-hub/clarifications-of-the-rules-of-golf.html#cp
